Living with ADHD in a world that’s in denial

Are you living with ADHD in your life?  Does your child have ADHD?  OR do you yourself, or even your spouse?  If so, you’ve come to the right place.  If not, you’ve also come to the right place, because here is where we can learn from each other.  We can educate and create awareness.

My goal is to create a community and a library of resources for parents that are, in one way or another, living with ADHD in their daily life.

There are so many aspects of ADHD to discuss, and I could make a list of all the things I have thought about writing about.  But, rather than make a list, just know that I want to discuss it all.  From getting a proper diagnosis, to living with it as a child vs. adult, to whether or not to medicate and the pros and cons to both.  You see, and as I’m sure many of you know, in the world we live in ADHD is just a symptom of a problem.  So many are in denial of the fact that it is truly a neurological deficit.  We’ve all heard the problems I am referring to.  Poor parenting, the kids aren’t active enough, too much screen time, poor diet, and so on and so forth.

Well, I want to break this stigma.  I want to create awareness.  I want to inform and educate those that do not fully understand what life is like every single day for anyone that truly lives with ADHD.  Whether they are living with it themselves, or living with it through a loved one.

If you live with ADHD on a daily basis, and want to be involved in this effort to create awareness, or have a story to share, message me at Jalynne@Raising6.com.

Let’s change the stereotypes associated with ADHD.  We can work together to inform and educate others.  We can start by creating a discussion on all things related to ADHD.  And we can share our stories to help others understand.  I will start by sharing my story next week.  And from there would love to share others stories, and resources I have that help my family!

Stay tuned…
