Delicious holiday treat! Sour Cream Jell-O

A delicious holday treat! Sour Cream Jell-O!

Years ago, I was expecting our 3rd son, Joshua.  Typically where cravings are I began to have a huge aversion to dairy!  Little did I know (as it took years to finally discover) it’s because I had become lactose intolerant!

I thought that meant the end of all delicious foods during the holidays!  I hated the idea of having to pass up my favorite holiday dishes.

Not anymore!  Now, thanks to LACTAID®  I’m able to enjoy these tasty treats!  LACTAID® helps to #tametummytrouble every time!  And not just for myself.  Several family members immediate and extended suffer from the same digestive health issues as well, and we’re able to get #relieffromthefeast with these!

I was so worried that I would never be able to enjoy my Mom’s sour cream Jell-O ever again, without awful tummy troubles.

Here for you to enjoy this holiday season:

Sour Cream Jell-O

This is a recipe I grew up eating!  I know what you’re thinking.   Sour cream?  In Jell-O?  You’ve just got to trust me on this.  It is amazing.  It’s been a family favorite for years.  Try it, you’ll be so glad you did!

Full of tasty fruit, and your favorite Jell-O, add sour cream and it really is that simple!

For this recipe I used:

1 6 ounce package Strawberry Jell-O

2 1/2 cups boiling water

2 Cups Frozen strawberries chopped

2 large bananas

1 Can crushed Pineapple drained

2 cups Sour Cream

Pour Jell-O packet into metal bowl.  Add boiling water and mix until Jell-O is dissolved.  Immediately add frozen strawberries and other fruits.

Once mixed well, pour half the mixture into 9×13 pan and place in refrigerator for 20 minutes.  Because of the frozen fruit it will set up rather quickly.  Be sure to mix the other half of the mixture you left out, so it doesn’t set.  After 20 minutes, remove Jell-O from the refrigerator, spread sour cream all over top, and then pour remaining Jell-O mixture on top of sour cream.  Return to fridge and allow to set up.  Serve, and enjoy!

*You can substitute raspberries and raspberry Jell-O, or mandarin oranges with orange Jell-O.  They all taste amazing with this recipe.

Love this. This is great for people who think they have to suffer due to dairy.
